Today as I opened the door to their premises, Jeff was hard at work painting a full sized wooden boat. As boating is their business, I assumed that the boat was having a winter overhaul and would be back on the water this Spring. Amazingly this boat has been restored and rather than take to the water again, it will be filled with soil and planted with flowers. It will take pride of place outside the building in full view of passing narrow boats journeying along the canal. They plan to paint “Loughborough in Bloom on its side.” It never ceases to amaze me just how the Bloom captures peoples imagination. There is a tremendous spirit and real enthusiasm all over town as we prepare for judging in July.

Very well done Lynn and Jeff for going the extra mile with your project, and for delivering such a fantastic feature. We all look forward to seeing the boat in full bloom!
