We have had our second group of students on the National Citizen Service, this time looking after our environment and raising funds for our trust.

They decided to raise funds by having a bake sale outside Loc8me in Loughborough town centre, and we thank them for their help. The group raised almost £300 for us.

In addition, the group took to the water in Canal and River Trust canoes and on the towpath on foot to collect rubbish on our adopted part of the canal. The group then created a sculpture for the trust based on what they pulled out of the water and the hedgerows. They got quite a lot over the space of a couple of miles and named the sculpture ‘Recycle Michael’ who is currently welcoming everyone to the base.

We would like to thank them for their support of the trust and are looking forward to our next group who will be helping with the Pirate trips.
