We are excited to announce our new activities programme for our young peoples project! We will be having a new Saturday activity each month for you to come down and enjoy.
After the success of our spring programme, we are offering a packed summer season.
All these activities and courses are free with help from The National Lottery.
Pre-booking essential!
LITTER PICK:
Help keep our waterways clear and help our environment by helping us with a litter pick - walk along the towpath or in the canoe.
Free attendance.  Refreshments provided.
Open to ages 14 - 25
BUG HUNTS & PICNIC:
We've teamed up with the Canals & Rivers Trust for Our Let's go Wild activity.  It encourages families to get out and about and spend time in nature - next to water.

Get active with some wild stretches (maybe you'll do a monkey run or an elephant tusk?!) - learn about different species on a bug hunt & do some nature crafts too. We'll end each session with a sit down picnic (don't forget to bring some nibbles/packed lunch and a blanket to sit on) where we can talk about the different bugs we find on the day and learn some water safety tips.

This event will begin at 10am and run until to 1pm approx. and is designed for families with pre-school and primary aged children. Older children are of course more than welcome to take part too. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult during the session.

Booking is essential.

Please book one ticket per child taking part in the activities.

If you are part of a community group and would like to do a group booking, please email Angie for a booking form.

Open to all ages.
BUILD YOUR OWN BIRD OR BUG BOX:
We will provide you with the materials to make a full-sized bird or bug box to take home with you and an understanding of where to put your new box in the garden. All materials and safety equipment provided.
Open to ages 14 - 25
SMARTPHONE PHOTOGRAPHY:

WE USED TO HAVE PHONES THAT TOOK PHOTOS.  WE NOW HAVE CAMERAS THAT MAKE PHONE CALLS!

If you own a smartphone, then you own a camera, and if you own a camera, you have the tools to create stunning images and video content.

Smartphone photography has gained greater kudos over the last few years, mainly due to the fact that the camera capabilities on phones can now rival DSLRs.

We will give you the skills to utilise your smartphone camera better, and show you how to release its full, photographic potential.  You will come away with knowing how your camera works better as well as some tips and tricks to get those creative shots.

Open to ages 14 - 25
Further activities will be announced over the coming weeks. Please contact Angie for further details and to book a place. [email protected]
