We are a Leicestershire based charity providing day trips and holidays on the waterways

For over 45 years the Peter Le Marchant Trust has provided day trips and holidays on the water to a wide range of children and adults who experience health and social issues in their day to day lives such as:

• People living with ill health, disabilities and conditions
• The elderly and those living in care
• People caring for others (carers)
• Groups dealing with social issues
• Community and faith groups
• Schools in support of their curriculum

Welcoming over 5,000 passengers a year, our aim is to provide a positive and enriching experience aboard our boats; to allow the joy and tranquility of the waterways to be accessible to all regardless of financial, physical and social constraints. People stepping aboard our boats are able to step away from their lives for a while and take in the simple joy of nature and unique calmness that being on the water brings.

Instead of narrow boats, we operate Serenade and Symphony; two broad-beam boats for our day trips. With these being 4 feet wider than narrow-boats they offer more comfort and facilities to our passengers. They are specially adapted and are accessible to all, including hydraulic lifts for wheelchair users and take up to 26 passengers.

We also have a self-hire narrow-boat, Jubilee, which has also been built to allow wheelchair users to take advantage of a holiday on the waterways.
